TECNICELPA-Forest Biobased Materials

In order to strengthen the scientific network of Modellfabrik Papier, our scientific network collaborator #Dr. Jihène Jerbi participated in the XXVI TECNICELPA International Conference – Forest Biobased Materials – 2023, which took place from October 11 to 13, 2023 in the university city of COIMBRA – Portugal.

The conference is a special opportunity to bring together scientists and exhibitors, as it will be a combination of the EXPOCELPA trade fair and the conference in the same space, allowing active participation by participants from both sides. Academics, scientists, technicians and manufacturers from all over the world working in the forestry, pulp, paper and biorefinery sectors were expected to attend the conference.
The scientific committee includes scientists from Rise (Sweden), RAIZ, Navigator and DsSmith (Portugal), RISE PFI (Norway) and universities from Portugal, Spain, Brazil, Argentina, France, Finland and Belgium.
Dr. Jihène Jerbi was very much looking forward to her visit to Navigator on the second day of the conference. Navigator is an integrated producer of forestry, pulp and paper, tissue and energy, whose activity is based on cutting-edge technology and a strong commitment to innovation and research and the search for sustainable solutions. It has also been in contact with the scientists at RAIZ for in-depth discussions on paper technology.
RAIZ – Forest and Paper Research Institute is a private non-profit organization recognized as a research and technology organization of the Portuguese science and technology system, developing research, consultancy, specialized services and training in the fields of forestry, pulp and paper and forest-based biorefineries. RAIZ was founded in 1996 as an association and its current members are The Navigator Company, the University of Coimbra, the University of Aveiro and the University of Lisbon (School of Agriculture).
