Technician (m/f/d) specialising in mechanical engineering for the research field Forschungscluster Modellfabrik Papier

Your mission is to take on a key role within the BMBF-funded project (Modellfabrik Papier research cluster). You will work closely with experienced experts in an interdisciplinary and collaborative working environment at the interface between science and industry in the paper sector.

Your tasks

  • Your expertise is sought to contribute to the development and operation of technology carriers for innovative papermaking processes
  • You will actively work in multidisciplinary teams to discuss ideas and find the best solutions
  • You will make an essential contribution to implementing the next scaling stage (pilot plant/technology carrier)
  • Your tasks will include the procurement and construction of individual parts and the implementation of measurement and control systems
  • In order to make possible changes and connect different individual segments with each other, you will design the overall plant to be as variable as possible
  • Based on the results of the experiments carried out, you will help to implement ways to optimize the processes.
  • You have successfully completed vocational training in mechanical engineering or a related field
  • You have experience in the construction and operation of technical systems
  • You would like to expand your knowledge in the planning and construction of experimental test stands up to the pilot plant
  • You enjoy setting up a plant and supervising the entire process from planning to the finished technology carrier
  • The topics of environmentally friendly processes and sustainability (in the paper industry) are important to you
  • You enjoy working in a collaborative team and, together with your colleagues, not only develop innovative technology carriers, but are also interested in continuous optimization.

Location

The Modellfabrik Papier will be built on the site of the Innovation Quarter at the Düren train station. Until the completion of our new building in early 2025, our activities will take place at the Jülich Research Center. Further office space is currently located in the CO_SPACE.DN.
