Network & cooperation
Our network
Modellfabrik Papier is an innovation network for the sustainable transformation of the paper industry. Together with stakeholders from science, industry and politics, we promote the exchange of pioneering ideas and inspire the targeted transfer of knowledge for tomorrow’s solutions. Regionally in the Rhenish mining area and beyond in the fields of bioeconomics, circular economy, energy efficiency and digitization. Locally rooted, active throughout Europe.
We are members
The German Industrial Research Foundation Konrad Zuse e.V. (in short: Zuse Foundation) represents the interests of non-profit research institutes in Germany that conduct industry-oriented research. The association, which is open to all technologies and industries, includes a good three quarters of all non-university research institutions nationwide. Their work focuses on research and development of applicable technologies and their transfer to industry.
The Bio-based Industries Consortium (BIC) is an European industry association working to advance competitive, sustainable and circular bio-based industries in Europe. The organization connects players from different industry sectors and disciplines, covering the entire bio-based ecosystem. Its aim is to facilitate collaboration across sectors, accelerate innovation and improve the investment climate in Europe.
Our partnerships
As one of 19 anchor projects for structural change in the Rhenish mining area[KC1], which are particularly influential in terms of a successful, accelerated and visible implementation of the transformation, we are well connected with various partners and multipliers in and beyond the region.
The Economic Development Office of the city of Düren, WIN.DN GmbH, is the developer of the new research building for Modellfabrik Papier. It is one of the first construction projects to be realized in the new innovation quarter in Düren.
The Paper Museum Düren is one of seven museums in Germany that focus on the subject of paper. Events in the “Museumsdialog Modellfabrik Papier” series are held regularly in the museum’s paper-making atelier.
