As part of the Modellfabrik Papier, your mission is to conduct research in specific focus areas of our research agenda and develop technology enablers for sustainable paper manufacturing.

Your mission

Your tasks

Your concrete tasks will depend on the respective research focus and will be explained in an initial interview. The Modellfabrik Papier is building its own research infrastructure with its own laboratories. You will work in a new team of scientists, in intensive exchange with scientific partners.

  • Successfully completed university degree (Diplom (FH) or Bachelor) or postdoc in the field of:

> Macromolecular chemistry or paper chemistry
> Fibre chemistry and recycling management
> Paper engineer with focus on primary energy efficiency
> Engineer with focus on adiabatic process control
> Engineer for dry web laying
> Process engineering
> Thermodynamica and Energy
> Digitalisation
> Natural sciences

  • Enjoyment of scientific work
  • Independent and self-reliant way of working
  • Ability to work in a team, organisational skills, communication skills, personal responsibility, reliability

Location

The Modellfabrik Papier will be built on the site of the Innovation Quarter at the Düren train station. Until the completion of our new building in early 2025, our activities will take place at the Jülich Research Center. Further office space is currently located in the CO_SPACE.DN.
