Purchaser / Procurement specialist / Investment manager (m/f/d)

in the field of research infrastructure for sustainable paper technologies - Cologne, Aachen, Düsseldorf

Your mission is to interface between external supplier partners and the multidisciplinary teams within the Model Factory Paper to ensure a smooth investment process and the coordination of the commissioning and installation of any laboratory infrastructure. You will work closely with experienced professionals in a collaborative working environment at the crossroads of science and industry in the paper sector.

Your mission

Your tasks

You take on the key role in building and maintaining relationships with suppliers, producers and service providers – also in the context of new & innovative equipment.
You will actively network in the interdisciplinary team (science, funding management) to exchange ideas and proposals, find the best solutions and thus ensure efficient operations
You will be responsible for the entire procurement process, from determining requirements, selecting suppliers and negotiating prices to processing and tracking orders.
You will coordinate the installation and commissioning of laboratory equipment and accompanying equipment with internal and external partners.
You will assist in the technical implementation of planned technology carriers and pilot machines.
By visiting trade fairs and technology events, you keep up to date and constantly expand your expertise.
You will use all available software applications in a modern, networked and efficient working and laboratory environment.
Your prepared presentations and calculations facilitate communication and increase transparency within the organisation.

You have completed commercial or technical training/studies or have a comparable qualification
Ideally, you have some professional experience in purchasing/procurement and related software
You are interested in environmentally friendly processes and sustainability (in the paper industry)
You are motivated to actively support the development and implementation of new technologies and processes.
You have already proven your ability to work independently and have taken responsibility for your (sub-)projects
With excellent communication skills and negotiation skills you can design processes (cost-)efficiently
Your conscientious and responsible way of working is essential for the growth of Modellfabrik Papier

Location

The Modellfabrik Papier will be built on the site of the Innovation Quarter at the Düren train station. Until the completion of our new building in early 2025, our activities will take place at the Jülich Research Center. Further office space is currently located in the CO_SPACE.DN.
