Laboratory technician (m/f/d) to support our research and development activities

Limited until July 2027 full-time

Your mission is to play a key role in the implementation, maintenance and further development of an efficient and effective daily laboratory routine within the Model Factory Paper research cluster. You will be part of a dedicated and multidisciplinary team at the intersection of science and industry in the paper sector.

Your mission

Your tasks

  • Within the Model Factory Paper research cluster, you will be involved in a diverse and varied range of disciplines
  • You will be involved in various process developments and you will prepare samples, carry out measurements and experiments
  • You will be responsible for the process of purchasing chemicals and general consumables for laboratory requirements and will be in contact with suppliers and companies for this purpose
  • You will help to organize and catalog the storage of chemicals and laboratory samples
  • You will be responsible for the regular maintenance, care and calibration of laboratory equipment and ensure its proper functioning
  • You will support compliance with laboratory safety regulations and contribute to their continuous improvement
  • In a modern, networked and efficient working and laboratory environment, you will use all the software applications provided independently
  • You will actively work in multidisciplinary teams to exchange ideas, discuss and find the best solutions
  • Your support is needed in the development of new research methods to drive the innovation process forward
  • You have successfully completed training as a laboratory technician or have a comparable qualification in a relevant field
  • Ideally, you have experience in working with laboratory equipment, conducting experiments and enjoy research and development activities
  • You demonstrate a high level of responsibility and reliability in all laboratory and work processes
  • You are motivated by new challenges and non-everyday issues and are not easily flustered
  • Effective teamwork and maintaining a motivating working atmosphere are a matter of course for you
  • You strive for continuous improvement and have a passion for efficient and effective processes
  • Ideally, you are familiar with analytical methods and the statistical evaluation of data

Location

The Modellfabrik Papier will be built on the site of the Innovation Quarter at the Düren train station. Until the completion of our new building in early 2025, our activities will take place at the Jülich Research Center. Further office space is currently located in the CO_SPACE.DN.
