Laboratory fitter (m/f/d)

to support our research and development activities

Your mission is to play a key role in the implementation, maintenance and further development of an efficient and effective daily laboratory routine within the research cluster Model Factory Paper. You are part of a dedicated and multidisciplinary team at the crossroads between science and industry in the paper sector.

Your mission

Your tasks

  • Within the Model Factory Paper research cluster, you will be involved in diverse and varied disciplines
  • You will be involved in various process developments and you will prepare samples, carry out measurements and experiments.
  • You will be responsible for the regular maintenance, care and calibration of the laboratory equipment and ensure its proper function
  • You will assist in the compliance with safety regulations in the laboratory and contribute to their continuous improvement
  • You will independently use all software applications provided in a modern, networked and efficient working and laboratory environment
  • You will actively work in multidisciplinary teams to exchange ideas, discuss and find the best solutions
  • Your support is needed in the development of new research methods to drive the innovation process forward
  • You have successfully completed training as a laboratory technician or have a comparable qualification in a relevant subject area
  • Ideally, you have experience in working with laboratory equipment, conducting experiments and enjoy research and development activities
  • You show a high degree of responsibility and reliability in all processes in the laboratory and in everyday working life
  • New challenges and unusual questions motivate you and don’t put you out of your element
  • Effective teamwork and maintaining a motivating working atmosphere is a matter of course for you.
  • You strive for continuous improvement and have a passion for efficient and effective processes.
  • Ideally, you are familiar with analytical methods and the statistical evaluation of data.

Location

The Modellfabrik Papier will be built on the site of the Innovation Quarter at the Düren train station. Until the completion of our new building in early 2025, our activities will take place at the Jülich Research Center. Further office space is currently located in the CO_SPACE.DN.
